Those of you that listen to the HAWPcast know that I’m a film and media studies major at Occidental College. You probably also know that I’m way into video game gender studies. My professor has allowed me to fuse the two into a project that explores the female experience of the western genre through Red Dead Redemption.
WHAT I NEED, IF YOU COULD BE SO KIND: Females of any age that have played Red Dead Redemption that are willing to answer questions about their experience of the game that will inform an essay I am writing on the subject. In addition, I want to compile testimonials of said female players on a website. The testimonials can come in any form: web cam videos, pieces of writing, drawings, machinima of the game, etc.
I really can’t conceive of any situation in which this would be laborious for anyone that chooses to participate; in fact, I think it could be quite fun. SO, if you are interested, please email me ASAP at burch@oxy.edu.

I don’t know if you still need help, but I’m a Swedish female gamer (22 y o) who loves RDR. I actually love all of Rockstars games, but this one is probably my favorite. I play on my PS3 several hours a day. I really want more girls in the gaming world, especially in these types of games that’s generally considered as a guys-game.
