HAWPcast: Burch n’ Davis

There we are.

Been a while since the last HAWPcast, and it’ll be more than a week until the next one, but I think this is a pretty informative episode in terms of where HAWP and OUAP are ultimately going. Which is to say, “somewhere, maybe” and “I dunno, to be honest,” respectively.

If nothing else, some neat OUAP merchandise should be coming. We’re thinking about shirts, and maybe offering a DVD/book combo pack once the season is all done.

For the record: I would be ALL OVER a book/DVD combo for OUAP. Also shirts.

I love how verbally mean you are to your sis and gf, my sis is bigger and older (lol and i’m 22) so she could potentially hurt me
and the gf controls snoo-snoo, so thats a bad idea.

anyone get the “mutual admiration society” feeling from this podcast you often get when couples talk about each other in front of others?

although there were a couple funny moments of anthony busting on ashley…

At PAX 2009, it was mentioned that you would be interested in an animated HAWP. Since OUAP had an animated Silent Hill 2 episode, would you consider doing it even more now since you have the tools and the talent?

I love the recent episodes of OUAP, Davis has such a unique voice (meant in the creative sense, not the vocal sense) it makes these shows intensely individual. The love of the games used as subjects is always on display but running counter to that is that dark subversive sense of humour.

I’d love the story book you read from for the Metal Gear episode, that would be the best OUAP merch you could ever make.

From what I’ve heard, the decline of the JRPG hype kinda has to do with rehashing of the same broken structure (grinding, etc) and lack of quality developers in japan due to lack of pay, apparently game developer is a really crappy job in japan, which really sucks.

Hi, I haven’t heard the entire thing yet, but as a quick note:

There are other Internet people that do video shows including season finales. I shall redirect you to this guy: http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/linkara/at4w

Now, I understand if you don’t want to watch through the whole of it, but basicly he does the same thing as the angry videogame nerd, except with bad comics. But he also puts storylines into the reviews, building up to a 2 episode finale, often in cooperation with other video guys on that side.

That’s just an example right of my mind, just because you guy were like “no one other does what we do with finales and storylines”..

    Take care, David

Just wanted to comment on the whole, Under/Over Thinking art thing:

As an artist that underthinks his process I find that going that route, for me at least, makes for a more intuitive art. I don’t always know where it’s going, and I get to be a little surprised by the outcome.

Is the game you’re working on Metal Geaw Butt Scwatch?

  14. chainsawface says:

Eh, I like it more with Ash. Also, have Papa Burch on at some point. Shit would be awesome.

So now that it’s been revealed that you are dating a renaissance man, I believe your sexuality has been thrown into further question.

OUAP merch! I’m very excited for this. I’d love to see the Prince from Katamari looking serious on a shirt, or ABC Megaman.
And pending on the price, I might seriously consider the OUAP DVD.

  17. Z80 says:

Is there a way to donate to you guys? It would be nice to be able to give you money without getting swamped with DVDs.

  18. Kad says:

Delayed comment since I listened to this just after you guys recorded it, but I agree on getting Papa Burch on the HAWPcast. That would be beyond amazing.
