So, I heard you guys don't like vampires.
Have you guys ever watched any of the Hellsing OVA series? It pretty much takes the currently established concept of Vampires, turns it on its head, then eats it. It's pleasantly over the top and has a morally questionable anti-hero that likes to eat people. What more could you want?

Oh great, people talking about Bill's death, and Anthony leaves Destructoid today. The only thing that could make this day sadder would be David Tennant regenerating again.

"went back and watched some episodes"

A damned lie sir, you merely remembered them. I need to proof read more, too quick to bash me thoughts out.

One episode that sticks in the mind featured the Master's tardis materialising in the Doctor's control room, starting a loop where they couldn't get away, constantly materialising in the other tardis. Funny at first, got dull quickly.

“I was taught by the best… to bad you weren’t around that day.”

Did you consider she meant a different version of the Doctor?

Not that I give a shit. I was never the biggest fan of Doctor Who - when I was growing up it was Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor, and whilst I enjoyed his crazy scheming I found the enemies he faced too camp and stupid. I only started watching the Matt Smith episodes because of Hey Ash, and I have to say, I hate it. Not the Doctor - just the stories being so campy and stupid, and changing the Daleks to be consumer friendly when released as a toy - or am I the only one who thought they changed them to primary colours so they could make toys of them? "DALEK SUPREME, DALEK SOLDIER WITH KUNG FU GRIP".

I honestly thought the whole thing about River Song being an unlikeable twat was just Ashley being psycho "Nooo, the Doctor is miiiiine", but fuck me, she needs to die. Apparently she did, though, so that's ok.

The idea of this woman being better than the Doctor in every way irks me. The fact that she can fly the Tardis solo, after Tennant said it takes 6 people to do it, annoys me. The fact that she can turn off the iconic noise - which is THE noise of the Tardis - because it is unnecessary <iannoys me</i>. I went back and watched some episodes where other Tardis machines appear, and they have all made the noise, does that mean they were all incompetant? Is River just fucking about? It shouldn't annoy me, but it really does.

Another awesome podcast. Being Human is a great show and I would definitely second Carabina's suggestion. I would also recommend the show Misfits. The show is quite vulgar, but still worth watching. I find it to be pretty funny.

The thing about the River Song wife-companion-to-rule-all-companions thing seems a little overblown. You guys ask why the doctor taught her to fly the tardis and no one else, but it seems to me she makes it clear the doctor *didn't* teach her to fly the tardis, she even states so blatantly "I was taught by the best... to bad you weren't around that day." I think there's a lot more going on with River Song than we suspect.

I certainly don't think she's the Doctor's wife, and both she and the doctor are careful never to explicitly state that is the case. River doesn't strike me as the kind of character that would be shy or secretive of such information. She's clearly an important player in the Doctor's life, but I have a feeling her role will prove to be more adversarial. If you'll allow me an analogy, I would consider River Song the Irene Adler to the Doctor's Sherlock Holmes. That's just my take on it.

I did love the business with the stabilizers and the parking break. Comedy gold. "I love that sound that's a brilliant sound" and his impression of it, awesome.

I think the whole "River Song is your wife" thing is a distraction, In Angels there's a quick scene where a soldier tells river that if the doctor finds out who she is, he won't help her. I have a feeling that this whole "history" between them is a ploy and the doctor is getting played, at least I hope that's whats happening, a married doctor would just be weird...
