although i havent watched “up”, its clear to say that its probably depressing but weirdly fun for the kids, carl being a 10 or what ever age he is the hero judging by the really dorky scout outfit and russell i think hes just really old maybe he could be the hero as well as setting out and going on an adventure of a lifetime, which is quite interesting while hes in a house which is held up by lots of balloons, try doing that in real life. i mite have to watch it cause my 9 year old brother mite do my head in if he ever found out that it was out, and if he does i will kill him lol

here’s my issue with the film. the ending had the most depressing resolution ever. Russells dad was still a dead beat who never loved him and now it’s like “oh it’s ok russell, just hang out with this old man who is going to die in a year at the most” russell’s life still totally sucks and he’s probably gonna have some severe adjustment issues when he grows up.

What would Carl eat? In addition how is the water and plumbing system of his house going to work? That thought crossed my mind very briefly and was immediately dismissed as irrelevant and inconsequential. Why? The movie strait up tells you: This is a fantastical story where a man can fly his house using hundreds of balloons! If you accept this logic then…Hey look! A Talking Dog! Do you ask how the collar works? No! Because it’s awesome! To NOT question the physics and rediscovering his adventurous inner child makes Carl a true Hero

Is he a hero? Yes. I don’t think it really matters that he only ends up being a hero because of the actions of others. I mean, you could tear down any hero with this logic. Is Link a hero? Well what if Zelda was fat? He would have just stayed at home and become a farmer. The Legend of Zelda would be less “Lord of the Rings” and more “The Good Earth.” Now that’s depressing.
